Who We Are

Car Toys in Oregon is your neighborhood destination for expert car audio and mobile electronics — the same Car Toys name Northwest drivers have trusted for years, now focused entirely on serving Oregon. From a simple daily-driver stereo upgrade to a full custom show build, our shops in Salem, Beaverton, Tigard, Clackamas, and Portland do the kind of work you just can’t get at a big-box counter.

Our Roots

Car Toys got its start back in 1987, growing from a single store into one of the best-known names in car audio across the western United States. For a whole generation of drivers, “let’s go to Car Toys” has meant one thing — gear you can trust, installed by people who actually know what they’re doing.

In 2025, as the national company restructured and its stores passed to new regional owners, the Oregon locations stayed open under local, independent ownership, led by longtime Car Toys veterans. Same shops. Same experienced installers. Same commitment to doing it right. The only real change is our focus: 100% Oregon, 100% local. We’re proud to carry the Car Toys name forward here at home.

What Makes Us Different

We’re a specialty shop, not a parts counter. Plenty of stores will sell you a box and send you on your way. We build the whole thing — cleanly, custom, and made to last.

That means in-house work most shops send out or simply won’t attempt: 3D-printed custom speaker rings, designed and printed right here in Oregon; one-off fabrication for a clean, factory-look install in almost any vehicle; and precision DSP tuning that pulls the absolute best out of every component in your system. Our installers bring years of hands-on experience to every job, and it shows in the details you don’t always see — the wiring, the fitment, the finish.
